Doctrine and Covenants Tuesday

Scripture of the Day:

1 BEHOLD, and hearken, O ye elders of my church, saith the Lord your God, even Jesus Christ, your aadvocate, who knoweth the weakness of man and how to bsuccor them who are ctempted.
2 And verily mine eyes are upon those who have not as yet gone up unto the land of Zion; wherefore your mission is not yet full.
3 Nevertheless, ye are ablessed, for the btestimony which ye have borne is crecorded in heaven for the angels to look upon; and they rejoice over you, and your dsins are forgiven you.

Historical Background:

Description from the Section heading-
Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, on the bank of the Missouri River at Chariton, Missouri, August 13, 1831. HC 1: 205–206. On this day the Prophet and his group, who were on their way from Independence to Kirtland, met several elders who were on their way to the land of Zion, and, after joyful salutations, received this revelation.
Gospel Principles Outlined:

1) The heavens record our borne testimonies.

2) Jesus Christ know exactly what we need and when we need it.

3) The Savior will guide us throughout our missions in this life.

4) Sharing our testimony will lead to a forgiveness of our sins.

5) The Savior is always ready to succor us in our weaknesses.

What I Learned Today:

I am so grateful for the Lord's willingness to succor us in weakness and recognize our abilities to fulfill the missions that He has given us.  He will always comfort us in our weakness but still remind us of the great things that he would like to accomplish with us.  It is comforting that He will always stand by our side.

Additional Resource-

Things I Will Implement:

I need to make sure that I trust the Lord in His timing and stay the course in the mission that He has given to me.  I will be more patient with the timing of the blessings that I am working toward.
